Intro to Solo Canoe
Our coaching approach is relaxed, supportive, and tailored to your ability. As a qualified Paddle UK coach, your instructor will guide you step by step, ensuring you build good habits from the start while keeping the experience fun and engaging. The canal offers the perfect environment for learning calm, approachable, and surrounded by stunning Highland scenery.
By the end of the session, you’ll have some of the basics and the confidence to continue developing your solo canoe skills.
Discover solo canoeing with our introductory flat-water course, run on the sheltered waters of the Caledonian Canal. Whether you’re completely new to solo canoeing or looking to build confidence, this session gives you the foundation you need to feel comfortable in your own canoe.
During this introductory session, we focus on the essential skills that make paddling enjoyable and efficient, how to move your canoe smoothly, steer with confidence, maintain balance, and use effective strokes that help you travel with ease.

This course is typically run at a 1 to 2 ratio unless you have your own canoe then we can run a a higher ratio
